Travel inspiration in Innsbruck and Rome
A picture-perfect Austrian city with Alpine appeal, Innsbruck blends lavish baroque palaces and designer boutiques with old-world taverns and glass-fronted bars. Glittering with crystals and shining slopes, it’s steeped in tradition but by no means traditional – as Bögen’s all-night parties confirm.
Located in the western part of Austria, Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol region, is a very accessible city with hundreds of shops, restaurants and numerous other year-round attractions. There are many ski areas around the city. Did you know that Innsbruck was twice host of the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976, and it also became the first city to host three Winter Olympics when it staged the world’s first Winter Youth Olympics in 2012?
Rome, the capital of Italy
Rome is the capital city of Italy and one of the most popular destinations of Italy. Once the capital of the Roman Empire, is now a city which offers visitors a variety of things to do. From the remains of Roman Empire to the Renaissance and baroque riches of its historic centre, Rome is a simply a master work.
With landmarks such as the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Piazza Venezia located in the old city centre, Rome certainly lives up to the fact that it is one of the most remarkable cities of the world.
The modern Rome is full of restaurants, wine bars, night life spot and elegant shops. Perfect for a enjoyable getaway!
Reviews & ratings Innsbruck - Rome
We had the two middle bunk beds in the coachette. Bed was fairly comfortable. Very convenient to be able to sleep in a bed for the 9 hour overnight train ride. Only complaints are that there is very little room for luggage, and since we boarded the train at 11:00pm, two of the people were already sleeping so we couldn't turn on the lights and we had to put our luggage in the middle of the floor.
