I booked for the trip, but it turned out that no need to book a regional train with a Fench pass. Then why the Hong Kong agency booked the train and charged me for the booking? Because booking doe snot make a difference, I did not take that train, and took an earlier train. The train had some problem and stoped in the middle of the trip, so we had to change to another train. We arrived about 3 hours after the schedule.
Nice and comfortable ride, but quite pricy.
PARIS MARSEILLE WAS GREAT. MARSEILLE- CANNES WE PAID FOR FIRST CLASS AND THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH SEATS ON FIRST AND ENDED GOING SECOND CLASS . DONT THINK WAS FAIR .
We expected the air condition comfort of tgv, and got RER _ we made the most of it with the great family atmosphere and chatting to everyone in our compartment - it was hot though - that is life!!
We reached our destination just on time and it was very easy to find a seat on the train. However, the train was so dirty (Seats, windows) and stinky.
Aside from a mostly comfortable ride (once I was on the train), I was rather frustrated that I purchased my tickets ahead of time and downloaded all the necessary ticket pickup information and travel details to my smart phone AND STILL, it took me over an hour to retrieve my tickets once at the train station. Furthermore, the printouts instructed me NOT to print out a copy of the travel details and to "think of the environment", but seriously, if I had not printed them out on paper, nobody would have been able to help me. SO GLAD I DID. The printout instructed me to use the Yellow internet presale machines to pick up the ticket, but non of the machines in the station recognized my reference numbers. I spend a good 30 minutes trying. After waiting in line for "information" and trying to show them my smart phone, I was instructed to go to tickets. Then my smart phone died. So I used my print outs to show the agents about my presale. EVEN THEY couldn't find my booking using any reference number generated by the printouts OR even using the credit card I'd used to pay for the presale. Ultimately, they had to look me up by name and train number before they could issue me a ticket. The whole process took over an hour and if I hadn't left so much time for my connection, I would have missed the train. So disorganized.
