Dijon, a city of culture. The capital of Burgundy has a lot to offer : historic buildings, museums or panoramic views... Do them all! In the Fine Art Museum, housed in the former Palace of the Dukes and States of Burgundy, Flemish modern art collection is astounding. At the Charterhouse in Champmol, the “Puits de Moïse" is an extraordinary example of the splendours of medieval Burgundian sculpture. Take your time walking around the ancient streets in the historical city centre , taste the world-renowned Dijon mustard during a guided tour or go on an excursion through the most famous vineyards in Burgundy – and taste their wines, too.!

Retail therapy

Dijon’s pedestrian streets wind between medieval houses, churches and Renaissance townhouses. The place de la Libération is one of the loveliest squares in France. In summer, its sunny café terraces are perfect for an urban break … Take your time in gardens : Jardin de l’Arquebuse and Jardin Darcy are well located in the city centre.

Eat and drink

On the slopes of the old “Côte Dijonnaise" appellation good food and wine are celebrated. Wine festivals, International Food Fair (Table de Lucullus)… Book a gourmet meal at one of Michelin starred restaurants: le Pré aux Clercs, l’Hostellerie du Chapeau Rouge or Stéphane Derbord. Not forgetting the many wine bars where you can enjoy wines from local cellars.

Hidden gems

Traditional weekly market in Dijon, on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday morning in and around the magnificent metal structure of the Halles in Place du Marché, surrounded by numerous bistrots and restaurants. Take a walk! The ‘Parcours de la chouette’ is a walking route, taking in 37 places of interest in the conservation area. Thrill seekers can do it on a Segway but… keep your balance
