Toledo, a precious heritage under the spanish sun
Spain’s former capital Toledo sits majestically on a hilltop overlooking the plains of Castilla La Mancha. The River Tagus loops around its jumbled Old Town, whose crooked alleyways twist around churches, mosques and synagogues. Look down on the terracotta roofs from the hulking fortress.
Toledo’s patrimony is so impressive, that the city was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO already back in 1986. It still bears the marks of a multicultural History.
Due to its central situation on the map of Spain, Toledo was at the heart of the Reconquista, 1000 years ago. Come for Easter and get the chance to visit monasteries that are closed during the rest of the year. Discover more about traditionnal knives, blades and swords. Feast upon an incredible variety of local tapas.
Follow the tracks of Don Quixote, and then, let your eyes feed on the utmost beauty of a lively city named Toledo.

- "Trips for Crips" Jody d. 25/10/2015
A most excellent train ride. I had a handicapped spot and could even be rolled to the accessible bathroom. I easily transferred from my wheelchair to a normal seat. Scenery was great as it flew by. Saw Spain change from the coast to desert to green again. Lots of olive trees. People helped me on and off of the train.

But the survey does not work properly. I will go again by train since it takes only 20 something minutes to go from Madrdid to Toledo.

We were from Hungary. If we had compared the Spanish railway stations, or the Renfe Spanish high speed train with Hungarian railway services, we could have cried. Everything was perfect. Trains are clear, comfortable, really speed and above all are punctual. Value for our money: 5 star.

Renfe is as convenient and comfortable as other rails in Europe. Nothing to worry about. Although one section was replaced by bus due to the rail being under construction and caused inconvenience, I am glad that that I completed the trips smoothly.

My son and I traveled from Madrid Atocha to Toledo in early May. The train was easy to find and board, and was on time to leave and arrive. The seats were so comfortable that I slept the whole way!
