The best time to visit Strasbourg is between mid-November and mid-January. Better ask for detailed information about the Christmas market from the Tourist office. During that period, all the magic of Strasbourg can be seen through the laughter of children running around in the middle of this excitement. As you might guess, in Strasbourg, Christmas is a very big cultural treasure and diversity for all tastes and souls. Concerts, shows, activities and exhibitions are to be explored throughout the small streets of the city. Don’t miss the Big Tree which is about 30m high and the tallest natural Christmas tree in Europe.
Outside Christmas period, there is also a lot to do in Strasbourg. Visit the Alsatian museum, the Secrets du chocolat, the Kronenbourg brewery, the Petite France quarter which is a heaven of peace in the heart of the city, the Covered bridges, the Astronomical clock, and much more.
Strasbourg is known for its beer, wine, baeckeofe (a mixed meat dish with potatoes), flamenküche (a thin pie made up of oignons, cheese and lardons) and its famous choucroute (cabbage, meat, sausages and potatoes).
Head to the historical centre of Strasbourg, where you will find luxury shops and little boutiques. In le carré d’or, between Rue du dôme and Rue des Orfèvres, there are fashion stores, perfumeries and jewellers.

- "happy to use railway" Evrim u. 03/02/2014
i and my mother-in-law who is 74 years old traveled from lyon to strasbourg by train and back to lyon again. it was wonderful. the only thing, maybe it is me who couldn't get it, although it was said that we could get our online tickets from the machines in the station, i couldn't make it. but thanks to person in the ticket office at gare de la part dieu, he helped a lot, thanks again to him. and also when we got to strasbourg it was late and no tourist information, the person at the ticket info at central gare de strasbourg found a map and helped us to find our hotel, thanks to him. every stuff we asked their help were very nice, system is nice, trains are comfortable. thank you very much for making our journey easy and comfortable. evrim balçık - istanbul - turkey
- "Fantastic RailEurope - EU2013" Yoong Sing l. 13/01/2014
We were indeed very happy with the services from RailEurope during our 2 weeks Europe trip (24-Nov-13 to 7-Dec-13). Our family trip planned 10 years ago and now a dream came true with RailEurope. Tickets were convenient to book from Singapore and all tickets arrived on time. London-Paris-Strasbourg-Frankfurt, simply a wonderful and comfortable time on-board from city to city. Certainly will be on RailEurope at our next exploration to other Europe cities. Great job! ***Matthew-Jasmine-Damien***

- "Our Epic Adventure!" Dianne m. 19/10/2013
We traveled all the way from New Zealand, via Australia and Abu Dhabi. The train was fantastic, better than we'd expected. Surprised how fast it ran, thanks for displaying the info. What a wonderfully smooth trip. Train was clean, uncluttered, on time, and staff were very welcoming. Recommendations: 1. Create e-tickets. We had to pay many $$$'s to have the train tickets couriered to NZ. For our plane
- "Strasbourg - Lyon" Volodymyr a. 14/10/2013
Convenient, comfortable, in time.
- "We love the TGV" Brian c. 10/10/2013
Booking on line was a breeze. As New Zealanders we do not have much experience with train travel. Travelling by TGV is not only a fantastic experience but is so easy to use. Twenty minutes prior to departure you get given a platform number. On the platform there is a digital display which shows the configuration of your train right down to the coach number which corresponds to letters marked on the platform. Easy as. Boarding is made easy by helpful TGV staff. The first class seating is excellent. What a way to travel sitting on the top level watching the French countryside at over 300 kph.
- "not as good as it should be" Khaled z. 28/09/2013
Having electric sockets is good, but the lack of Wi-Fi was disappointing. Seats were okay. But it is a bit over priced
- "Comfortable" Yu Hsien c. 26/09/2013
Soon and comfortable.
- "service" Nancy w. 25/09/2013
you should increase the frequency of the train especially during morning - should have train every hour in the morning. there should have machine for us to check the train schedule. pls increase the number of staff to answer and help tourists like us for enquiry and ticket arrangement. it took too long to wait the queue every time
