Poznan, a facinating city to discover

Poznan is one of Poland’s finest historical cities and the centre, Stary Rynek (the old market square), is alive with people day and night. Visit the glass Palm House and the huge Citadel park and museums, or shop and dine at Stary Browar, a trendy converted brewery.

A visit of the oldest part of Poznan, the Ostrow Tumski island, is essential as you will discover the oldest cathedral of Poland: the gothic Saint Pierre and Paul cathedral. On Stary Rynek square, you will be amazed by the architecture of the City Hall of Renaissance style.

It is surrounded by dozen of old houses provided splendid archways. If you’re fond of history, do not miss the archaeological museum in the Gorka Palace. Poznan owns four lakes among which the widest one, the lake of Kiekrz, is also an important aquatic centre.

You may also appreciate a walk along the Malta lake or enjoy its boat-races and outdoors concerts.

  • "Old (Stary) Train"
a tired old train that rattled me to the bones all night and the guard kept having loud conversations through the night with some complaining woman. Apart from this I understood I would get my own toilet shower for the price and the little croissant and water was no worth bothering a complimentary. if the updated this train it would have been more pleasure for the first class price did not reflect the comfort. After i caught up on my sleep on the Thalys train super smooth and great breakfast!
