While you're there
Feel like French royalty in Nantes with a visit to the Dukes of Brittany Castle after a magical ride on a mechanical elephant. Sip sweet Muscadet wine at converted biscuit factory Lieu Unique; then head out for more tasting in the sinewy Loire Valley’s vineyards.
The History Museum of Nantes, located in the Castle, invites you to learn more about the history of this amazing town. Nearby the Castle, the medieval "Bouffay" district allows the visitors to admire picturesque timber-framed, half-timbered and corbelled houses.
Take time to visit the beautiful gothic cathedral which houses the grave of Anne of Brittany’s parents. Reach the "Graslin" square to have a break in "La Cigale", a lovely brasserie from 1900. If you’re found of shopping, stroll in the "Crébillon" street which leads to the magnificent neo-classic "Passage Pommeraye".
The art lovers should visit the Fine Arts Museum, one of the richest in France.
At lunch time, a host of local restaurants awaits you in the nearby Bouffay district. Walk into this medieval area and have a look at the belfry crowned with angels of the Sainte-Croix Church.
End your day by a dinner at La Cigale, a classified monument which dates back to the 1900’s and located just opposite the Opera Graslin. For over a century, no famous artist has ever missed a detour to this brasserie when he is in town.

Very good feeling . No problems .
- "Awesome" . 23/10/2013
comfortable and enjoyable journey
- "TGV is Comfy and Easy" Wan Weng h. 23/09/2013
I needed to be in Nantes (my first) for a business deal just 2 weeks ago and decided to take the TGV from Paris CDG with a First Class seat. Having pre-printed the Boarding Ticket, the trip was smooth and on time - from station to station. The seat was especially comfortable
- "Trip Paris-Nantes" Iskren l. 19/09/2013
It was great. The only inconvinience is the small legroom and small luggage options. But the train is so fast... can not imagine being travelling at speed of 299km/h so conveniently:) I do suggest trying TGV!
- "Nice trip" . 12/09/2013
Enjoyable trip on the TGV from CDG to Nantes. Smooth ride and no distractions. Will make the trip again, instead of flying.
- "Barcode failure" Dimitar k. 19/08/2013
Both conductors could not scan our tickets. The barcode was printed on 200dpi laser printer with perfect quality. The rest with the trip was OK. It is still expensive trip!
- "Seating" Bruce g. 19/07/2013
There us inadequate seating at the station, many elderly people have to stand up.and with luggage it is difficult We had difficulties with our ticketing at Nantes on the first leg of our trip we were unable to access it from the booth and had to get assistance and then the clerk had difficulties.
- "Expensive but comfortable" Mika k. 08/07/2013
The cost of the train trip is too much. Anyhow the seats were nice, the sitting department was quiet thanks to the mobile free area. The speed of the rain was unbelieveble. Thank you!
- "Nantes to Paris by TGV" Chris c. 06/07/2013
Easy to use and understand. Staion in Nantes easy to find, drop off outside staion simple, signage good at station to find platform. Train fast, comfortable and on time. Views from train great. I know its a cost but it would be good if all train companies offered Wi-fi for all seats.
- "Return: Nantes to Aeroport CDG" Keith b. 05/07/2013
To make my flight connection of 11.35 the only possible train left uncomfortably early at just before 6 am. Because of travel from St Nazaire to Nantes an even earlier start had to be made. So, a train leaving around 8 am would have been desirable. That said, the train was delayed en route by 40 minutes - which, with a later train than the only one presently possible, could have been really problematic for flight connection. Also, no explanation (ie at least not in English - my first language) was provided.
- "Terrific train to Nantes" Eric k. 01/07/2013
Our recent train trip from Paris Montparnasse to Nantes was great! Extremely comfortable seats, train was on time and great value for money. Will definitely travel by train again when visiting Europe.
- "Small Issue" Oliver M g. 30/06/2013
We had a problem trying to locate our Coach.. how do you identify which coach you have to get into?
- "CDG airport - Nantes - CDG air" Mikko t. 30/06/2013
- "Comfort trip" Nagui b. 11/06/2013
My Trip from Paris to Nantes was very comfort by TGV trains departure and arrivel is exactly as schedule , stations are well organised and easy to use . also reservation site is very easy to choose the suitable train
- "Relaxing way to travel" Daniel k. 14/05/2013
Without knowing French very well, the ticket and the train station, train and seats are very explanatory on where you need to go. The journey is very relaxing, although you may be travelling backwards in the train, but it doesnt matter as the scenery is still the same. There was enough room for our luggage in the luggage racks, but I think we were lucky not too many were travelling with suit cases as there are only 3 locations in the carriage for suitcases. But plenty of overhead for smaller travel bags. Great way to travel, as train leaves on time
