Macon is the perfect destination by train if you want to share your time between culture and nature. You should visit the apothecary shop. Located at the ground floor of the Hotel-Dieu, it presents a great collection of what you could find in a chemist’s back to the 18th century.
You can also visit the 19th century St Peter church and stroll on the Herbe’s square and admire the medieval wooden house. You will also find archeological sites that are worth the detour. A cruise tour is also possible on the river Saône, offering a different view on the city.
Around Macon, experience a hot-air balloon tour to see the world-famous Burgundy’s vineyards from the sky.

Boarded at Macon at 10:22 and loved every minute of first class reserved seating journey to Nice. Glad there is service from Macon Ville as it is very close to the car rental depot. The track from Marseille to Nice hugs the Mediterranean and offers an entertaining view of the coast. The bar car was nearby and efficiently served the clientele. What a wonderful day for us to see so much of France in such comfort. Thanks raileurope for making the booking process so easy for a novice.
- "Great way to Lyon" Ross b. 06/09/2014

I rate my experience 4 stars, very good. The only sour note was the staff member at the ticket counter at Macon Loche was less than helpful. The train was clean and comfortable and staff on the train were most hospitable and helpful. It was a convenient way to get from ML to Paris and seats were comfortable.

Приятно путешествовать такими поездами и хорошо, что есть возможность покупки билетов через интернет.
